structurePulse™ - Structure Reengineering Tool

Why all the buzz? Here's a short testimonial from a very satisfied user:

“…As I look back at the challenge I had in front of me a few weeks ago: a monster structure with 80 Tables, 70 Subtables, 500 relations, 2000 forms, 10000 methods, etc. to transform into a new structure with no subtables… I could have never guessed that it could have been done in just under 3 hours (originally I expected it to take almost a week), most of them watching structurePulse 2 while having a beer!!! …In the last few weeks structurePulse 2 has become one of the most amazing and important pieces of 4D software reengineering tools anyone's has ever seen.” -- Adriano Cisternino adri@famac.com

Here's a quick overview of some of the new structurePulse capabilities:

  • Want to read & auto-generate 4D structure diagrams including all tables, fields, relations, and sub-tables? - Read any 4D structure (v6x and up) and the entire diagram will be automatically created for you.

  • New interface look and feel with hierarchical object browser in the diagram space. Makes it easy to find and navigate to any object in the structure. Click on an object in the browser and the table moves to the center of the diagram. Click on a table in the diagram and that table is located in the browser and highlited.

  • Want a way to easily remove unused tables, fields, subtables, etc.? No problem! structurePulse 2 has been designed to make deleting tables, fields, subtables an easy process. Compare the diagram above to the one below and you’ll notice that all the fields have been reordered in a backwards way:

  • Want to automatically remove sub-tables or convert your subtables into independent tables with relation to the parent table automatically created?

  • Want to to play with or fine tune your structure diagram and automatically create a New or Modified 4D Structure directly from structurePulse™? You no longer need 4D Insider! It's as easy as:

    - Read a 4D structure and make all required changes to the structure diagram.

    - Click on the "Create New Structure" button, set the source structure, choose the type of structure, give it a name, and click on the Create button.

A new structure is created in it's a new folder consisting of the changed structure.

Here's the new structure opened in 4D 2003. It closely resembles the DP2 structure diagram.

Easily add create new structure diagrams which can then be copied into Foundations, Power 4D, or your own database. Create new structures which include all methods, scripts, forms, objects, pictures, resources, passwords, etc. All internal 4D references are correctly updated and copied into the new structure.

  • Designed to feel like you're in the 4D structure editor window. But enhanced! Manipulate all the structural properties as if you were in the 4D Design using similar property editors:

  • Structure diagrams are completely memory resident and only touch the database when saved or loaded. So you can read and generate for a quick look at a 4D structure and never have to save it.
  • Want to ... well you get the picture. There's so much more!
